ABOUT US

 

3D Playwrights, which stands for DC Disabled Dramatists, is a writer’s group of theatremakers based in the DC metro area. We define disability broadly, whether we are disabled, neurodivergent, sick, mad, or self-identify in our own way.

​

Started in December 2023, the group was born out of a need to share new work, particularly in early stages, and receive feedback through a disabled lens before inviting in nondisabled perspectives. It has grown to include intentional networking through inviting theatre leaders to speak, going to shows and events together, and other ways of supporting each other’s careers and creativity.

​

We currently have 10 writers and are an unincorporated, member-led group. We plan to transition to an LLC so we can maintain a small budget for artist opportunities and access needs.

As we grow, we’re taking some time to think about membership and how people can join us.
